Female Genital Mutilation persists because it is protected by culture and normalized by silence. To challenge this, the campaign reframed FGM through the lens of rape—something society now universally condemns—to expose the brutality and lack of consent involved. Through an intentionally uncomfortable film and print series told from the perpetrator’s perspective, alongside seminars with cultural leaders and grassroots initiatives, the campaign provoked reflection, encouraged reporting, and mobilized collective action to help abolish the practice.
